Obituary of Harriet Sideck
Harriet Sideck, 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Parker Home at River Road in Piscataway, NJ.
Born in Teaneck, Harriet grew up in Oradell and settled in South Plainfield in 1986.
Harriet graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1985 and worked as an accountant for Church and Dwight in Princeton for over 20 years. She later ran a small business with her husband until retirement.
Harriet loved music and was a member of various church choirs over the years. Her kind and generous spirit led her to volunteer with the Dominican Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, serve on the Board of Directors of Our House, and lend her sewing talents to the costume department of the South Plainfield Summer Drama Workshop.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, Harriet had a gift for making people feel cared for and loved. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and live music.
Surviving is her husband, Jon Sideck; daughters, Lesley Sideck and Lisa Keller and her husband, Markus Fritze; and sister, Virginia Schwab.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 5-8 pm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home on Saturday, January 27, 2024, beginning at 9 am prior to the 10 am funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, 149 South Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ.
Immediately following the funeral mass, Harriet will be laid to rest at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 1734 Clinton Ave, South Plainfield, NJ.
