Obituary of Maureen Henderson
Whiting, NJ – Maureen Henderson, 82, died peacefully at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater on January 4, 2024. Born in Glasgow, Scotland to the late George McKenzie and Jane (Wilson) Henderson, Maureen came to the United States in her early twenty’s, lived in North Plainfield most of her life and retired to Whiting.
She worked as an administrative assistant for numerous medical companies over the years. Maureen loved spending time with family and friends and while enjoying their company, she also loved a nice cup of tea. Maureen enjoyed connecting with her late daughter’s friends on facebook and she loved to write poetry about love. She enjoyed time down at Atlantic City and never could pass up a seafood dinner.
Maureen never complained, had a great sense of humor and was loved by all. She is finally together with her one and only, her daughter Dawn Marie.
Predeceased by her daughter Dawn Marie Henderson in 1988 and Erin Kearns, Maureen leaves behind her loving sister Phoebe Harkins and her daughter Jean of Scotland, sister-in-law Sandra Henderson of North Carolina and niece Shannon Henderson of Bronx, NY. All of her friends she met along the way became her family and will miss her dearly, especially her best friend Anne Schwanerer. She also leaves behind Eric Schwanerer, Judie Molesky, Grace Reith, Kim Molesky-Lella, Danielle Chaballa, Lisa Corvino-Lewis, Lori Lynn, Shawna Reith, Toni Rutledge, Chris Bardi, Anthony Perina, Daryl Domenic, Teresa DelVecchio and her favorite little friend Brooklyn and her dog Banana.
Please join at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains at 12:00pm on January 17, 2024 as we lay Maureen to rest with her daughter Dawn Marie. Please gather at the cemetery office and wait for the procession to to begin.
