Obituary of Ann F. Walsh
Cream Ridge – Ann F. Walsh, 68, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Plainfield, Ann resided in South Plainfield in her earlier years; she graduated from St. Pius High School then went onto further her education at Jersey City State College. She lived in Rutherford and settled to Cream Ridge at retirement.
Ann began her career in the telephone industry with Bell Telephone as a Network Tech. Ann continued with Verizon where she also held the Shop Stewart position. She later became the Chief Stewart and held a position on their executive board until retirement in 2016.
She was stern, but fair and always there in need. Ann will be remembered as the greatest aunt to her nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed going to the beach, as well as, on excursions with family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, James E. and Elizabeth Walsh and brother in law Robert Sabosik; surviving are her companion, William “Bill” Fallon; three siblings, James Walsh and his wife Linda; Jane Sabosik, and Thomas Walsh and his wife Janie; her nieces and nephews, Jaclyn Sabosik, Elizabeth “Liz” Sabosik, Megan Walsh, Melissa Walsh and William Walsh as well as extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, NJ 07080 at 10 AM.
Cremation will be held privately following mass. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her parents in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield at a later date.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, December 17, 2023 from 4-6 PM in the funeral home.
