On behalf of the Quick family, we sincerely thank everyone for attending tonight’s memorial service.
A little bit about our Dad:
For those of you who knew him, the mention of his name brings an immediate smile to your face and warmth to your heart. Our Dad was an honest, genuine and humble man. He led a simple and fulfilling life. He was always in a good mood and quick with a joke. Always the gentlemen, he took pride in his work and his family. Once you met Bill you had a friend for life. Eager to help family, neighbors, co-workers and strangers was his most special trait with no expectation for anything in return. He touched many lives with his actions and gentle words.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Piscataway and grew up on Road’s End Farm with his two younger brothers, Bruce and Jeff. He started his career as a systems engineer at Western Electric, Gateway II in Newark and commuted from the New Brunswick train station to work everyday with his Dad, eventually retiring from AT&T. He loved his parents and as they aged, built a 2-family home in Piscataway so that they could remain in town with their friends and family rather than move to a more affordable area.
Those who knew him well knew he was a complete motorhead with a need for speed. He belonged to the Royal Rods car club and owned countless cars, dune buggies, tractors and even had a motorcycle he kept secret from his parents. He frequented the Flemington, Old Bridge and Englishtown raceways and for many years attended the Daytona and Pocono 500’s. He built his first boat and named it Runnin’ Scared. He loved to tinker in the garage, working on anything mechanical, and was a master in doing so. He spent countless hours there which we always felt was his place of solace.
During his lifetime he belonged to numerous clubs; the 4-H Club, the New Market Grange, he ran the Western Electric Wee Ski Club where he met his wife Nancy, belonged to Indian Guides with my brother Bill where they were named Big Foot and Little Foot and coached my softball team. He had a side hustle selling Kelly Springfield tires for Diamond Tire Service. He was an active member of the Fort Dix Army reserves 78th lightning division for 30+ years and was in charge of supplies. He was even a roller skate dance champion.
Our Dad was a great man, one to admire and respect. He was a loving Grandfather to 4 grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Billy and Melanie. He taught by example and was the most kind and decent human being you will ever know. He will forever be our hero and someone to look up to.
A quote to our Dad:
If we could give you one thing in this life, it would be the ability to see yourself through our eyes
Only then would you realize how special you are to us
Thank you for believing in us
Thank you for your constant support, endless love and for being our everlasting friend.
We are so lucky to have a Dad like you!
May the Lord watch over you and keep you in his care.

I met Bill many years ago while working at AT&T. Later, on a ski trip he met my sister and they married and the rest is history. Bill was a very thoughtful person and loved life. I have so many good memories of him and will always be glad he was a part of my life. He will be missed.
