Obituary of Michael E. Wanzie
Piscataway, NJ – Michael Edward Wanzie, 54, passed away suddenly at his home on November 15, 2023. Born in Somerville to Irene and the late Edward Wanzie, Mike was a lifetime resident of Piscataway.
He graduated Rutgers University and was a Senior Marketing Manager at Panasonic USA in Newark. Mike had a love for classic cars, especially Corvettes. He belonged to the Drive Time Corvette Club, was a member of the Piscataway BPO Elks Lodge #2414 and the Sons of the American Legion in Piscataway.
Mike enjoyed relaxing on the beach and would never miss the opportunity to watch the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!). In his youth, he was a former baseball player and that carried through to him coaching Little League. Mike loved doing home improvements and lawn care and had a passion about music, especially Elvis, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra and Country.
A born patriot, crafty handyman, and a true, selfless family man, he loved to be with his children and his pets, (Humphrey, Elvis and Cosmo).
Predeceased by his father Edward Wanzie and father-in-law Robert Krasnansky, Mike leaves behind his wife of thirty years, Donna Wanzie and their children; Marisa Rieth and her husband Ryan of Winter Garden, FL, Justin Wanzie of West Chester, PA, Evan Wanzie and his wife Christine of Bradenton, FL. He will be missed by his mother Irene Wanzie of Piscataway, sister Cynthia Piano and her husband Vincent of Piscataway, mother-in-law Phyllis Krasnansky of Bound Brook, brother-in-law and his family, Bob, Susanne and Christopher Krasnansky of Le Rouret, France, brother-in-law Kevin Krasnansky of Bound Brook, as well as his nieces and their family; Brittany, Raymond, Chloe and Scarlett Rose of Whitehouse Station and Erica Piano of Piscataway.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm and on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 beginning 9:00am. Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30am followed by a 10:00am funeral mass at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Committal words will follow in the chapel of Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
