Obituary of Victoria Romero
Victoria (Poveda) Romero, 75, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Bogotá, Colombia on January 11, 1948 Victoria migrated to Queens, New York in 1968 eventually establishing deep roots in South Plainfield, New Jersey in 1973 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Victoria was a devoted wife to Horacio for 54 years. Together they had three children Sheldon, Gina, and Harry who she loved dearly. Her grandchildren Katalina, Daniel, Gianna, Lina, Tori, and Sebastian fondly called her Mami Vicky and they shared the most special bond with her. Victoria was the happiest when her house was filled with her lively family. She loved reality television, speaking to her sisters over the phone, and music. Victoria will be remembered as a generous, thoughtful, empathetic woman who always had her door open and treated everybody like family.
She is survived by her loving husband Horacio Romero and three children, Sheldon and wife Cristina, Gina and husband Manuel, and Harry and wife Jessica. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Katalina, Daniel, Gianna, Lina, Tori, and Sebastian, her sisters Gloria, Blanca, and Rosalba, countless nieces and nephews, and her dog Milo. She will be missed fondly by her family, friends, and anyone whose life she touched with her presence.
A Public Visitation will be held during the hours of 10am-12pm on Friday, November 3rd at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Funeral services will begin at 12pm on Friday, November 3rd, in the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
