Obituary of Peter Louis Staffelli
Minneola, FL – Peter Louis Staffelli, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at Orlando Health at South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL. Born in Plainfield, NJ to the late Louis and Louise (Holmes) Staffelli, Peter resided in Middlesex until 2020; when he moved to Florida to be with his son and daughter.
Peter started his working career in the Postal Service in Middlesex. He went on to work for Howard Johnson and the NJ Turnpike before becoming Director of Operations of Restaurant Associates in NY, NY. Peter belonged to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, National Parks Association and the Middlesex Historical Society.
He enjoyed puzzles, crosswords, Sudoku and was an avid reader. Peter had an extensive collection of Disney memorabilia, especially Donald Duck and loved attending antique car shows. As a sports fan, he rooted for the Boston Red Sox, NY Mets and the NY Giants.
Predeceased by his son John Richard in 1999 and his wife of fifty-two years, Edythe Margaret in 2010, Peter leaves behind his family; son Peter Staffelli (Melissa) and daughter Edith Fritzinger, all of Minneola, FL, grandchildren; Whitney Jean, Sabrina Louise and Sawyer Edythe all of Minneola, FL., Jessica Louise Dziak (Andrew) of Mansfield, TX, John Richard, Staffelli, Jr. of Elizabeth City, NC, Ronald Peter Staffelli of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Alexander Staffelli of Chowan, NC and Phillip Matthew Staffelli-Suel of Clarksville, TN and his great-granddaughter Madison Louise Dziak of Mansfield, TX. Peter is also survived by his sisters; Jane Vatelot of St. Petersburg, FL and Nina Pardi of Summit, NJ.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 806 W. Minneola Avenue, Clermont, FL 34711 on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 7pm until 9pm. Additional visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
Family and friends may gather at 10:15am on Monday, October 30, 2023 followed by an 11:00 am funeral service. Peter will be laid to rest with his wife at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
