Obituary of Wilma Sage King
Wilma Sage King, 75, passed away at home in Middlesex on Thursday, October 5, 2023.
Born and raised in Dash Valley, St. George, Barbados, Wilma immigrated to the United States in 1985. She resided in Brooklyn, NY, for over 20 years before settling in Middlesex, NJ, in 2006.
Wilma worked as a personal assistant after arriving in the United States. She was employed by Robert Meister's family, who lived in Manhattan, for over 30 years before her retirement. Wilma had worked as a clothing pattern drafter in the garment industry in Barbados for many years before moving to the US.
Outside of work, Wilma enjoyed being with her family. She was a good cook and baker and enjoyed reading a good romance novel at the end of the day.
She is predeceased by her husband, Vincent King, and siblings Morris Sage, Lorraine Sage, Christopher Sage, and Margot Southwell.
Surviving is her daughter, Carolyn Sage, and her husband, David Gill; brothers, David and Lloyd Sage; grandchildren, Eden, Ethan, and Emmiel Gill; nieces, Fiona Sage, and Monique Southwell; Nephews Anthony Sage, Paul Southwell, Corey Sage, Lloyd Jr Sage, Dionne Dorchester, Ryan Sage, Troy Sage; In-laws- Morris Southwell, Marjia Bennette- Sage, Arminta Sage and a host of grand nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation for family and friends in the United States will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 2- 6 P.M. in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bond Brook Rd. Middlesex, NJ 08846.
The funeral service will occur at St. George Parish Church, The Glebe, Saint George, Barbados, on November 8, 2023, at 3:30 P.M.
Wilma will be laid to rest following the church service at the St. George Parish Church Cemetery, The Glebe, Saint George, Barbados.
