Obituary of Philip Gentile

Middlesex, NJ – Philip Gentile, 81m died at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville in the early hours of Friday, September 29, 2023.  Born in Frigento, Italy to the late Joseph and Felicetta (Grella) Gentile, Philip has lived in Raritan, Tuscon, AZ and settled to Middlesex in 1989.

He worked as a commercial cabinet maker for Jafco Industries in Middlesex.  He was a former volunteer fireman with Pierce Fire Company and was a Jehovah Witness, belonging to the Kingdom Hall on William Street in Middlesex. 

He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed his yearly cruises and never missed an opportunity to be with his only grandson. 

Philip leaves behind his wife Phyllis and their children; Christine Johnson and her husband Dale of Middlesex and Paul Gentile and his wife Laurie of Bound Brook.  He will be missed by his grandson Aidan Johnson, siblings; Carmela Menkens and her husband John of Bradley Gardens, Grace Smith and her husband Joe of Fuquay Varina, NC, Angelo Gentile and his wife Bara of Alachua, FL as well as many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 beginning 9:30am. 

Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the funeral home at 10:00am followed by mausoleum entombment at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
