Obituary of Carl J. Asszony
Piscataway – Carl J. Asszony, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at home.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Carl enlisted with the Unites States Air Force in 1951 during the Korean War. During his service, Carl worked as an air traffic controller and was decorated with a Service Medal as well as a Bronze Service Star prior to receiving his honorable discharge in 1955.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Carl met his late wife, Beverly on campus and were married for 47 years. Carl went on to work as a planner with Bristol Myers Squibb until his retirement. He then was employed with the Middlesex County Veteran Services where he tirelessly devoted his time to improve the lives of veterans.
In addition, Mr. Asszony was a longtime member of the John W Lupu Memorial Post 306 Middlesex American Legion.
Predeceased by his wife, Beverly Asszony; surviving are his son, Keith Asszony and his wife Linda; grandson Nolan; brother, Edward Duffield and granddaughter, Clarissa.
The Asszony family would also like to recognize Jean Findlaytor for her dedicated time and effort she put forth in the quality of care she provided towards both Carl and Beverly over the past few years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 beginning at 10am followed by an 11am funeral service in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex NJ 08846.
Immediately following the funeral service, Carl will be laid to rest alongside side his late wife Beverly at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
