Obituary of Gerald Schlette

Gerald Schlette, 66, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at home in Middlesex.

Born in Pompton Plains, Gerry was a resident of Middlesex for several years.

He will be missed and remembered by his family, friends, colleagues, and many students. One of his proudest accomplishments was his career in Respiratory Therapy.

Gerry’s interest in health care began in his late teens.  His subsequent career in Respiratory Care then spanned five decades.  Not just a consummate clinician, Gerry was an outstanding educator, whose gift for teaching helped guide and mold hundreds of fledgling NJ respiratory therapists.  As a veteran therapist, educator and speaker, Gerry’s contributions to the profession of Respiratory Care will not be soon forgotten. 

There will be a private ceremony with his family to honor Gerry's life. In lieu of flowers, all loved ones wishing to honor Gerry may do so with well wishes or donations to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org
