Obituary of Loreta J. Fontanilla

Piscataway – Loreta J. Fontanilla, 82, passed away Sunday evening, September 25, 2022 at ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Piscataway.

Born in Lupao Philippines, Loreta immigrated to the United States in 1969 to Irvington.  She resided in South Plainfield before settling to Piscataway. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino as well as watching Filipino Soaps on TV.  She will be remembered for being a devout catholic, who said the rosary every day and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Loreta also had a love for cooking, of which she shared with the family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband who died in August of 2019, Ricardo R. Fontanilla and two siblings, Romelo and Pricilla; surviving are her son, Carlo Fontanilla and wife Lana as well as two cherished granddaughters, Brianna and Adrianna. She will also be missed by her siblings, Honorio Jacalan and wife Cecil, Manuel Jacalan and wife Lynn, Bella Bunuan and husband Lino, Dr. Rosalina Ramos and Arturo “Julio” Jacalan; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will begin on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 9AM in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854 followed by a funeral mass in St. Francis Cabrini at 10AM.

Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday from 5-9PM in the funeral home.
