Obituary of William C. Totten, Sr.
William C. Totten Sr. 79, of Piscataway, passed away on July 23, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Phillipsburg on January 11, 1943 to the late Vincent and Jennie Louella Totten, William was a resident of Piscataway.
William served four years in the United States Marine Corp. He then married his wife Mary (Marigliano) and moved to Piscataway to start and raise his family. He worked and retired from Johanna Foods in Flemington. He was a loving son, husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved to spend time with his family. William could also be found fresh water fishing on his boat or cruising the streets on his motorcycle. He will be missed by everyone he came in contact with.
William was predeceased by his parents Vincent and Jennie Louella Totten, stepmother Judith Totten, sisters Ruth Ann Rush and Ethel Berger, son in law Bobby Caride and daughter in law Angela Totten.
William is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years Mary Totten, sisters, Virginia Totten, Dorothy Solliday, and Ranae Handellong as well as his children, daughter; Donna Caride of Middlesex, and sons; William Totten Jr. and his wife Wendy of Bethlehem, PA, Vincent Totten and his wife Isabel of Somerset and Steven Totten of Piscataway. He will be missed dearly by twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and on Thursday, July 28, 2022 beginning 9:15am. On Thursday, July 28, 2022, funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 9:45am followed by a 10:30 am funeral mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. At the request of the family, entombment at Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations sent in Williams name to Feed the Children, an organization to assist with hunger and crisis, (www.feedthechildren.org) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.St.Jude.org) would be appreciated.
