Obituary of Cesar Martinez

Cesar Martinez, 80, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Green Knoll Care and Rehab Center in Bridgewater.

Born and raised in Colombia, Mr. Martinez came to the United States in 1969.

He lived in New York City before settling to North Plainfield 42 years ago.

After 35 years of working for Tingley Rubber Corp in South Plainfield, he retired to focus on his real passion which included caring for his growing family.  Cesar enjoyed spending time with his family in particular his six grandchildren who he loved dearly.  "Abuelo" savored the simple moments he would spend with them like picking them up from school, babysitting or even shopping with them.  He will be remembered by his friends for the many barbeques and parties he hosted in the spirit of bringing everyone together.  He was also often the man behind the camcorder or camera capturing the moments for everyone to enjoy.   

He is survived by his wife Fanny of North Plainfield; daughter, Fanny Schultz also of North Plainfield; sons, Marlon Martinez and Marisol Martinez and Cesar Martinez and Jenny Martinez; sisters, Edith, Betty, Alcira and Nancy; brothers, Luis Carlos, Alberto and Guillermo and grandchildren, Samantha, Alexander, Sofia and Alyssa Martinez and Gabrielle and Sara Schultz. Also surviving are numerous extended relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022 beginning at 2pm followed by a 5:30pm funeral service in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
