Obituary of Maria Freeman
South Plainfield – Maria Freeman, 61, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Ponta Grossa, Brasil, Maria immigrated to the United States at two years of age. She and her family arrived in South Plainfield, NJ, where she has remained a lifelong resident.
Maria will be remembered as a true caregiver, caring for many children, including her own children and grandchildren. She was a beloved nanny for five other children as well, who knew her as Ms. Maria. She was very creative, and enjoyed learning numerous DIY hobbies and crafts. She loved to cook and bake, and her delicious cuisines and casseroles have become family staples. She also loved to shop. She also loved to shop, sew, garden and spend time with her daughter at the gym. She looked forward to trips to Atlantic City with her husband. She loved the beach, traveling, and vacationing. But most of all, she loved spending time with her entire loving family.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Robert Freeman Jr.; two children, Chrissy Freeman and Robert Freeman III, as well as her two grandchildren, Kylie and Madisyn Freeman.
She will also be missed by her four siblings. Her sister, Olga Cesare and family (Bob, Nick and Matt), as well as her brothers Pete, Mike, and Mark Mychalczuk and family (Jill, Lindsey and Melissa).
A funeral mass will be held in Mary, Mother God Roman Catholic Church, 157 South Triangle Road, Hillsborough NJ 08844 on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 10AM followed by burial in St. Andrews Cemetery, South Bound Brook.
Family and friends are encouraged to gather in the funeral home for the viewing on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 between 4PM and 8PM.
