Obituary of Regina Millward-Kelly
Regina Millward-Kelly was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed peacefully at home with her children by her side on December 30, 2021.
Born to Anna and Charles Diker on March 21, 1936, Regina grew up in Staten Island, NY where she gained her wit, became a NY Giants fan, married her late husband, Allen Millward, and had three children. The first, Linda, passed as an infant and lived on in Regina’s heart.
The Millward family moved to South Plainfield, NJ in 1965 to raise their family. Regina then became involved in the Jayceettes, worked on the town planning board, and participated in a ladies bridge club. Several years after her husband Allen passed, she married everyone’s favorite South Plainfield Councilman, Owen Kelly, in 1999.
Regina was an avid churchgoer, who relied on her religion to carry her through life’s ups and downs. She loved traveling, going to plays at the Papermill Playhouse, listening to Frank Sinatra, watching the cardinals out her window, and always lit up when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to visit. Her family was the center of her Universe.
She’s survived by her doting husband, Owen Kelly, devoted daughter and her husband, Karen (Millward) and Ron Morris, loving son, Rich Millward, five grandchildren, Jeannine (Morris) Lombardi, Danielle (Morris) Bulauitan, Gregory Morris, Allison Millward, Kevin Millward, and their spouses, three great-grandchildren, Amaya, Remi, and Lily, and her beloved dog, Riley.
To celebrate her life, her family is holding a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers, they ask you send donations in her honor to her favorite charity – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
