Obituary of Rose K. Frantz
Piscataway, NJ – Rose K. Frantz, 89, passed away at her home in Piscataway on September 28, 2021. Born and raised in Newark to the late Jacob and Helen Klee, Rose has been a resident of Piscataway for over sixty years.
Rose originally worked for Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield as an Information Clerk in Communications. She also volunteered with the hospital for over thirty-five years, and then went on to become a receptionist at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.
She volunteered for the Friends of Piscataway Public Library and loved to volunteer any chance she could. Rose loved to bowl and was active in the senior league until she turned 87 and enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. Rose was an avid animal lover, especially her dogs, gold fish and cats.
Rose was predeceased by her son John J. in 1980, husband John E. in 1981, son-in-law David H. Van Blarcum in 2007 and her brother Jacob E. klee in 2011. She leaves behind her loving daughter Linda Van Blarcum and her companion Ron Heim of Piscataway, cherished grandchildren; Jennifer Cartelli and her husband Michael of North Carolina, Christopher Van Blarcum and his wife Anna Marie of Virginia, Kara Van Blarcum and her partner Scott Hendrick of North Carolina and Lauren Van Blarcum of Maryland. Her three great-grandchildren; Katherine and Alexandra Cartelli and Bennett Van Blarcum will miss her dearly along with Peg and Walt Szymanski, whom she considered a daughter and son-in-law as well as many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854 from 9:30 am until 11:00am. Graveside prayers will follow beginning 11:30am at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway.
