Obituary of Pamela J. Mocharski
South Plainfield - Pamela J. (Scalera) Mocharski, 61, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
A lifelong resident of South Plainfield, Pam graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1977. She married her high school sweetheart, John Mocharski and the two raised their family in the Borough. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church and was involved with the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department, helping coordinate the annual secret Santa drive, as well as with the Boy Scout Troop 207.
Known to many as ”Pam from McCriskin”, Pam spent countless hours behind the scenes as the back bone of the funeral home helping the families of South Plainfield. She will certainly be missed by Jim, Rick, Richie, Billy, the directors and support staff. We are all eternally grateful for the hard work and dedication she showed over the last 30 years.
Pam enjoyed time spent with her family and always looked forward to their yearly family trip to Wildwood. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend.
Predeceased by her father, Joseph Scalera and brother, Dennis Scalera who passed in 2014;
surviving are her husband, John Mocharski, Sr.; two sons, John Mocharski, Jr. and wife, Samantha of Edison and Michael Mocharski of South Plainfield; mother, Patricia Scalera of South Plainfield and two brothers, Joseph Scalera III of South Plainfield and James Scalera of Toms River.
She will also be missed by her grandson, Jack, nieces and nephews, as well as by extended family and friends.
Family and family friends may gather for visitation on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 4-8PM from McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080. A prayer service will be led by Father John Alavardo at 7:30PM. Pam will be privately entombed in Holy Redeemer Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department or the South Plainfield EMS.
