Obituary of Chet Lapczynski
Bound Brook, NJ – Chester Franklin Lapczynski, 76, known to all as “Chet,” passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University at Somerset in Somerville with Connie (Bugal) Lapczynski, his devoted wife and best friend of thirty-five years at his bedside. Born February 17, 1945 on Plainfield Avenue in Piscataway to the late George, Sr. and Helen Lapczynski, Chet spent the majority of his adult life in Bound Brook.
He graduated from Piscataway Vo-Tech and continued his career for the Carpenters Local Union #455 of Somerville for over fifty years, and was considered a Master Carpenter. An avid country music fan, he enjoyed line dancing to such an extent, he was known to move the dance floor to the back yard just to enjoy dancing up until the wee hours of the morning. A past President of the Old Straw Hat Ski Club, Chet loved skiing and also enjoyed bowling.
While growing up, he worked alongside his dad. He hated working in his dads store so much; he often said the happiest day of his life was when his family closed the store. He could always be found helping others and enjoyed family gatherings. Chet was known as the “King” of the ten family yard sale for thirty years and throughout his entire life, he was a huge animal lover.
Predeceased by his brothers; Michael, Joseph and George, and sister Theresa Teresak, Chet leaves behind his devoted wife Connie, son Lawrence, three brothers; William, Anthony and Robert and sister Davina, as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 5-8 pm and on Friday, May 14, 2021 beginning 9:15 am. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 9:45 am followed by a 10:30 am funeral mass at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway.
