Obituary of Joseph Lembo

Joseph Lembo, 79, died on Friday, January 29, 2021 at home in South Plainfield.

 

Born and raised in Elizabeth NJ Joe lived in Rahway before settling to South Plainfield over 45 years ago.

 

Joe was an all-around active individual and had several hobbies. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a talented cook and within his circle of Friends of Bill W. he was commonly referred to as “Joe the Baker.”

 

In addition, Joe fancied ballroom dancing and often attended Ludo’s Ballroom in Whitehouse.

 

He is survived by his son, Greg Lembo and his wife Kim of Hillsborough; daughter Karen Geremia and her husband Joe of Branchburg; grandchildren, Jessica and Tony Geremia; sister, Dee Klebosis and her husband Robert of Toms River; brother, Peter Lembo and his wife Jeannine of Maryland and his long term companion, Daphne Iglesias of Morris Plains;

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, from 3-7pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

 

Cremation Services will take place privately.

 

In Lieu of Flowers and in honor of Joe’s memory, please consider donating to your local soup kitchen or food bank.

 

 

We kindly ask that face masks be worn while visiting, to be mindful of physical distancing guidelines and for visitors to minimize time spent indoors to allow everyone a chance to pay their respects.
