Obituary of Carmita Liwag
Piscataway, NJ – Carmita (Hocson) Liwag, 65, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Complete Care at Willow Creek in Somerset. Born in Manila, Philippines to the late Ernesto and Emma (Raymundo) Hocson, Carmita lived in the Philippines until 1980, where she then immigrated to the United States, settling in Jersey City until 1988 and moving to Piscataway to live the remainder of her life.
Carmita worked for the BNP Paribas Bank until 1994. She then took her time to spend it with her family as a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, word searches and crossword puzzles, watching tv and movies but she thoroughly loved staying in touch with all her family and friends.
Carmita leaves behind her loving husband Felix F. Liwag, Jr. and their children: Patricia Maldonado of Desert Hot Springs, CA, Kenneth Liwag of NY, NY, and Melissa Liwag of Millburn, NJ. She will be missed dearly by her five grandchildren: Isabel, Emma, Siri and Maya Maldonado and Noah Eulloqui, her great-granddaughter Penelope Wilson, and her four siblings: Ramon, Raul, and Rene Hocson, and Regina Sanchez.
A private funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway with cremation following. A memorial celebrating her life will be held at a later date when it can be safe to get together.
