Obituary of Helen Saley
Helen Eileen Konopka Saley, age 100 went to be with Our Lord on Tuesday Dec 29, 2020.
She was born in South Plainfield, NJ, where she lived and later worked at Cornell Dubilier; there she met her late husband of 60 years William Saley. They later moved to Edison, NJ., where they would make their home for many years. During those years she worked at Mattel and enjoyed rescuing cats. Her mission was finding them forever homes. She later moved to Boca Raton, FL to spend her remaining years near her niece Susan DiNardo. There she enjoyed going to the casinos and spending time with many of her neighbors.
Helen and her husband Bill were world travelers and over a period of 30yrs, they visited more than 100 countries. She also enjoyed going to the Edison Senior Center where she played bridge, line danced, and made many friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, William Saley, and her infant daughter; her parents Bronislawa Juszczak, and Saturnin Konopka; her brother Zygmond Konopka, and sisters Estelle Szaro, and Jean DiNardo.
She is survived by her nieces Susan DiNardo of Florida, Karen Pack of Arizona; and her nephew Gerry Konopka and his wife Karen of NJ; and her second cousin John Bieglecki and his wife Carma: and her Grandnieces, Grandnephews, Great Grandnieces and Great Grandnephews. She also leaves behind her cat Lily.
Helen was privately entombed at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
