South Plainfield – Frank Approvato, 85, died April 4, 2020 at Willow Creek Rehab Care Center in Somerset.
Born to the late Clem and Rose (Dellacave) Approvato in Plainfield, Frank has been a resident of South Plainfield since 1958.
Frank started his career as a barber in 1957 with Charlies Barber Shop in South Plainfield. After many years of dedicated hard work, he eventually owned the business, retiring in 2007. A member of the Italian American Progressive League, he was also a honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army.
A fan of South Plainfield Wrestling, Frank enjoyed golfing, trips to the casino and morning coffee at the local diner. He will be forever missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and caring friend.
Predeceased by his wife, Rosalie; surviving are his three sons, Charles and Zina Approvato, Frank Approvato and Paul and Lisa Approvato; four grandchildren, Thomas, Charles, Lucas and Kate and two sisters in law, Theresa Perry and Mary Ribar.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, a memorial service and memorial mass will be held at a later date.
