Obituary of Dr. Josette C. Seibles

Josette C. Seibles, PhD., 72, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Seibles grew up in Toledo, Ohio.
Dr. Seibles attended Scott High School in Toledo where she was a member of the Class of 1965.
Upon completion of high school, Josette attended Denison University in Granville, OH where she received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry. She furthered her studies at the University of Cincinnati where she achieved a PhD in Chemistry and also met her husband, Lawrence Seibles, whom she wed on March 17, 1973.
After working in the Organic Chemistry industry for a number of years, she decided to pursue a Master's degree in Education so that she could teach. Dr. Seibles taught at the Secondary and Collegiate levels where she shared her love and passion for chemistry with thousands of students over the last 20 years.
At the time of her passing, Dr. Seibles was teaching Chemistry at Bayonne High School in Bayonne, NJ.
Dr. Seibles enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, listening to music, attending concerts and traveling with her children and extended families. She also loved decorating, arranging flowers and could tell you the scientific name of almost any plant.
As a full time working mother, she was a devoted wife to her husband of 38 years, an adoring mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher and who most of all was a very sweet, beautiful, intelligent person who made the world a better place with her presence. She will be painfully missed by all who knew her, but will never be forgotten.
Josette is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Seibles, PhD., sister Ginette Baker and brother Samuel Crout Jr.
Surviving are her four children, Dr. Ayana Seibles (Dr. Jeffrey Dormu) of Mitchellville, MD., Damalyan Seibles of Trenton, NJ, Dr. Shania Seibles (Greg Walker) of Columbus, GA., and Karanjay Seibles of Piscataway, NJ; two grandchildren, Niara and Jeffrey Dormu Jr. and nieces, Alisha Baker of Mt. Clemens, MI. and Raychelle Skibinski – Baker of Toledo, OH. Also surviving are her brothers, David Hicks of Carson City, CA. and Philip Teater of Carmel, IN. as well as a host of extended relatives and friends.
At the request of the Seibles family all funeral services for Josette are being held privately under the direction of the Piscataway Funeral Home.
