I am so sorry for your loss. Ed was both my junior high band director as well as my colleague in Scotch Plains for many years. He played a big part in my decision to further my education in music at the college level and 35 years later I'm still a high school band director. I remember his taking time for me, getting me into the school's jazz band and giving me opportunity and direction as an awkward adolescent. Years later I remember having lunch with him on a daily basis in the school lunchroom and having really interesting conversations. He was a fixture in my life, and someone who helped me get through those horrific middle school years. He will be sorely missed. God bless.

My Condolences to the Green family on your loss. He was my music teacher when I was in junior high school at Terrill JH in Scotch Plains. He was a very nice and patient instructor especially to a group of students that only wanted to play rock. He was accommodating to us by having us play Chicago 25 or 6 to 4. Some very fond memories. We actually were speaking about him amongst our drum line only about a month or so ago.
Kindest regards
Michael

Mr. Green was my music instructor in middle school in the 1970's. I always loved band and when I switched from flute to trombone he was somewhat supportive but it was a challenge. I still remember his smile. He was a great teacher. My sincere condolences on the loss of a special man..

Please accept my sympathy. Mr.Green taught me to play the saxophone in 1963. He was a fine teacher but more importantly, he was an excellent role model to his students. He shared positive life lessons as well as knowledge.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was a middle school student of Mr Green's in the 70s. (I guess is was Jr. High back then.) I ended up being a professional musician and music educator, and am forever grateful for his kind support during my years in his band.

My condolences on your loss of Ed. I remember meeting him as a young clarinetist and hoped someday that I could play as well as he. As an adult, I had the pleasure of working with him in various concert bands. He was always gracious, kind and welcoming to young musicians. His talent and kindness will be missed.
