Obituary of Petro H. Pisar
Petro H. Pisar, 94, of South Plainfield, died on Sunday, August 25 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Bukovyna, Ukraine on January 10, 1925, to Petro and Katycha Pisar, one of 6 siblings. After the Second World War, he was a refugee in Venezuela before immigrating to the United States. Petro worked as a welder at SQR in South Plainfield for over 20 years and was an active member at Saint Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the South Plainfield Senior Center.
Petro is survived by his 3 children, Pedro “Pete”, Ana, and Walter from his first wife, Wasselena; 2 children, Mary and Olga, from his second wife, Tacia; four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. He is predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters, both of his wives, as well as two grandchildren, Dawn and David.
His family would like to thank Grace Hospice Services and the South Plainfield Senior Center for their attentive care during his time of need.
Funeral services will be held at South Plainfield Funeral Home in South Plainfield, on Thursday, August 29, at 8:30 AM.
The viewing will be followed by an 11am funeral mass at Saint Andrew Memorial Church, South Bound Brook.
Interment will follow at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Cemetery, South Bound Brook.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the South Plainfield Senior Center.
