Obituary of Mary Colapietro
South Plainfield formerly of Toms River - Mary (Otranto) Colapietro, 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born and raised in Plainfield, she married the late Thomas V. Colapietro. They resided in the city until they settled to Silver Ridge Park - North in Toms River over 25 years ago where they were well-known and active members of the community. Prior to retirement, Mary had worked at Sears in Watchung.
A former communicant of Sacred Heart RC Church, Mary was also a long time member of St Maximilian Kolbe Parish in Toms River. Mary enjoyed traveling, dancing and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Thomas V. Colapietro, sister, Sadie (John) Eodice and her brother Alfonso (Elizabeth) Pellegrino.
She is survived by her daughter; Cynthia Severino and her husband Ronald, son; Thomas C. Colapietro and his wife Jacqueline and two granddaughters; Alyson (Scott) Oller and BethAnn DeGeronimo.
She will also be missed by her six great grandchildren.
Family and friends may attend the visitation hours on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
Funeral services will begin on Friday, August 2, 2019 at 9:15 AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, N., 07080. A funeral mass will follow in Sacred Heart RC Church, 149 South Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ. 07080 at 10 AM.
Interment will take place in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran Memorial Cemetery on Monday, August 5, 2019.
