Helen (Macedon) Shelby, 84, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 21st, 2019. Helen was born on July 11th, 1934 to Wilianna and Patrick Macedon in the Bronx, New York. She was one of fourteen children; 4 sisters and 9 brothers. She spent most of her life in the Bronx before moving to Plainfield NJ. 

 

Helen worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 25 years before retiring in 1991. Helen loved to shop, take care of her family and decorate her home according to the season. Her favorite stores were Macys and QVC. Helen also enjoyed the casino. She loved taking her turn at the one arm bandit slot machine and was quite successful and she will always be remembered for looking her best even for a simple run to the store.

 

Helen is predeceased by her husband Roosevelt Shelby Sr. who died in 2002, her granddaughter Crystal Frost, her parents, her 4 sisters, 8 brothers and a son in law Harry Letlough Sr.

 

Helen is survived by her brother Melvin Macedon, sons, Frederick Frost and his wife Carolyn, Roosevelt Shelby Jr. and his wife Terry; daughters, Michelle Letlough, Lynette Conard, Melinda Thomas and her husband Bernard; grandsons, Fred, Harold, Harry, Adam, Nygel, Kyle and Ryan; granddaughters, Kimberley, Ashton, Raven, Ebony and Lyana; goddaughter, Rosalyn Washington and Husband Gary and 9 great-grandchildren Also surviving several extended family members and friends.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5-7pm in the fuenral home.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 1, at 10:00 am at Church of The Sacred Heart, 149 South Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.

 

Interment will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx NY 10465
