A Story of a boy & his dog....
Pete & I were brought together by our love of dogs. All dogs seem to be drawn to him. Even my last "challenging" dog, Sparkle, a Belgian Malinois, who would some how convince him to walk the neighborhood block with us every day.
Pete was truly the favorite Pet-Parent of my latest "challenging" dog, Opal - a deaf, white Pit Bull, and she would prove that fact daily. And, Pete would give me that smiling smirk on his face - like he thought he was all that.
For the last 2 years, he was a good companion for me & Opal. We 3 would sit on the back porch during the nice weather drinking our morning coffee. One day while having our coffee, I decided to eat a yogurt cup. When I was just about done I offered it to Opal to finish. I was snubbed. So, I slowly handed the cup over to Pete, who instantly offered it to Opal. Well......she devoured it like it was the best thing she ever tasted. Needless to say............Pete gave me that smiling smirk yet again.
Opal & I miss him.
