Obituary of Bob Fletcher
Piscataway, NJ – William R. “Bob” Fletcher, 80, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Haven Hospice located within JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Jersey City to the late James and Claribel (Myers) Fletcher, Bob resided in Avenel prior to settling to Piscataway in 1967.
After graduating from Woodbridge High School in 1956, Bob went on to serve his country in the United States Army, having been discharged in 1964 as a Sp5 (T) E5. For fifteen years, Bob was the owner of the B & B Wholesale Hardware in Bound Brook and then became a limousine driver for A-1 Limousine Company.
He was formerly involved with the Piscataway Little League and served as President. Bob was an avid bowler and loved taking his 1960 silver Corvette to car shows. Bob was especially known around town for his car and will be missed by his car enthusiast.
Predeceased by his three siblings; James Roy, Ernest Upchurch and Doris Hart, Bob leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-nine years; Barbara J. (Fodor) Fletcher, cherished sons; Bryan of Piscataway and Brad and his wife Dora of Oldsmar, FL and three loving grandchildren; Brittany, Andrea and Dana.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 6-9 pm at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Military Honors will be rendered at the funeral home on Monday evening at 8:30 pm. At the request of Bob’s family, further services will be held privately.
