Obituary of Dorothy Viola Welch

Dorothy Viola Welch, 77, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Hoboken, Mrs. Welch resided in Edison for several years prior to settling to Piscataway in 1970.
A teacher for the Edison School System, Mrs. Welch taught students that were enrolled in the Gifted and Talented program and retired after 35 years of employment.
Predeceased by her husband Earl and sister Edith Whittaker, surviving are her daughters, Sharon Scanlan and her husband James of Basking Ridge and Randy and Shelia Bodle of Tarpin Springs, Fl. and grandchildren, Brian and Daniel Scanlan and Kyle and Katelyn Bodle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 from 2-5pm in the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854.
Cremation services will follow privately.
The family has requested to please refrain from sending flowers and consider making a donation to further benefit less fortunate children in your local elementary school system.
