Obituary of Deborah L. Straz

Deborah L. Straz, 51 passed away on Friday August 17, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Born in New Brunswick, Deborah had lived in Piscataway for 26 years and Somerville for 15 years prior to relocating to Hillsborough four years ago. Debbie worked in the accounting field for 30 years and was recently employed by Plan IT ROI in Denville. A member of the Somerset County Women's Republican Organization, Debbie also served as Past President of the Somerville Rescue Squad Women's Auxiliary. She was an avid jewelry maker but most importantly Deb took pride and making sure her family was always taken care of in particular her Jacob. She enjoyed watching him play during his youth sporting activities especially football. Predeceased by her father Ronald Corliss and step father Kevin Leavitt, surviving is her husband, Francis; son, Jacob Straz both of Hillsborough; mother, Bettie Leavitt of Hillsborough; sister, Stefanie Martin (Chris) of Middlesex; grandson, Jordan Straz; step daughter, Hayley Socha of Fl.; sister in law, Victoria Straz (Matt Wallace) of Phillipsburg; brother in law, Wayne Straz of Ft. Lee; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Connor and Mackenzie Martin, Raven Wallace and Samuel Straz and her dearest friend, Robin Calv and family. Also surviving are her fur babies; Grizzly, Brandy, Sammy and Lucy. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 beginning at 4pm followed by a 7:30pm funeral service in the Middlesex Funeral Home 528 Bound Brook Rd Middlesex, NJ 08846.
