Obituary of Lois Eileen Donnelly

Lois Eileen Donnelly, 84, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Jersey City to the late Ralph and Anna Scarpa, she went on to marry John Michael Donnelly and began to raise their family in the same town she grew up in. The Donnelly's settled to South Plainfield in 1970. Lois was a renowned cook, making every holiday special. She enjoyed the occasional trip to Atlantic City, but most of all, enjoyed the quality time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her beloved husband of 64 years, John Michael Donnelly, her loving children, Michael J. Donnelly and wife Denise, Thomas Donnelly, Robert Donnelly and wife Lynn, and Ann Hamer and husband William, her cherished grandchildren, Jed(Michelle),Kayla, Alexis, Ben, Kristen(Leonard), Dana(Michael), and her great-grandchildren, Trace, Jayden, Lauren, Dillan, and Brody. Family and friends are welcome to gather for visitation on Sunday, August 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00PM at the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the funeral home followed by interment at Clover Leaf Cemetery, Woodbridge. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois' memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
