Obituary of Joseph J. Sacko

South Plainfield - Joseph J. Sacko, 84, passed away on June 22, 2018 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Scranton, PA to the late John and Helen (Anuszewski) Sacko, Joe lived in Dickson City, PA before relocating to South Plainfield in 1967. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army where he faithfully served his country in the 3rd Armed Division in Germany. He started working at GAF in Linden and eventually acquired a gas station in Rahway. He continued to work two jobs until his retirement. A member of Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield, Joe loved anything having to deal with automotive. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snorkeling and was an avid nature lover. He was a big fan of the Looney Tunes and loved expressing …. THAT'S ALL FOLKS! Predeceased by his parents, his brothers Walter, John and Leonard and his sisters; Francis "Becky" Mikula, Marion Mariucci and Dorothy Skorupka, Joe leaves behind his wife Joan (Fronckel) Sacko, children; Diane Sacko Palmer and Jeff of Etna, WY, Beverly Andrews and Dave of Parker, CO, Joseph Sacko and Mimi of Toms River, Joan Nardacci of South Plainfield and David Sacko of CO. He will be missed deeply by his eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 9:00 am until 9:30 am. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday in the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a 10:00 am Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in South Plainfield. Burial will take place at Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations sent in Joe's name to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, 75 Rock Avenue, Plainfield, NJ 07063 would be appreciated.
