Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Nancy Anne Bracey, of Middlesex, New Jersey, passed away Monday, August 25th at her home after a long- time battle with kidney- related illness. She was 49 years old. Nancy was born on January 18th, 1965 at St. Peters Hospital, to her mother, Josephine Bracey, who she is survived by, and her father, Richard Bracey, who is deceased. She is also survived by her two older brothers, Richard and Daniel Bracey, who are both current residents of New Jersey. During her childhood, she spent time with her brothers and parents living on a farm in Warren County, New Jersey, where they owned cows, horses, chickens, cats, and dogs. Bracey also spent a short time in New Mexico, where her and her family relocated for a year in 1973. She also enjoyed roller skating at the Villa Roller Rink in Asbury, New Jersey on Friday nights, sightseeing, participating in arts and crafts activities at the Warren County Farmer's Fair, being a part of the Warren County 4H Club with her brothers, and also horseback riding. She even placed 6th at a horse show around age 11. From the ages of 4 to 18, Nancy attended The Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf, where she made several life-long friends, and also graduated as a beautician from the Garden State Academy in 1986. As for employment, Nancy worked during her life as a filing clerk for Global VIP Travel Agency, Special Project Coordinator at the USGA, and also as a hairstylist throughout many different points in her life. Nancy was a woman of many eclectic and fascinating interests. Those included arts and crafts, especially scrapbooking, solving puzzles, animals, her two favorites being wolves and ladybugs, collecting keychains from different parts of the world, which her family and friends constantly helped to make additions to, collecting beanie babies, and taking part in countless New Jersey Deaf Club activities. Throughout her life, Nancy participated in many things throughout her life that anyone could be proud of, but easily her proudest and brightest moment was becoming a mother. Her daughter, Samantha Jo Bracey, born on April 10th, 1996, was always, to Nancy, her proudest achievement. From the time she first met her, to her recent graduation from Middlesex High School in June of 2014 and her enrollment in Raritan Valley Community College for the Fall of 2014, Samantha Jo was her mother's heart and soul. She was and is revered by her family and friends for her loving nature, comedic disposition, innocence, and unwavering bravery, especially in the face of her ongoing illness. Nancy is predeceased by her maternal grandparents; Vincent J. Piacquadio and Josephine D. Piacquadio, and her paternal grandparents; Harold K. Bracey and Ethel Bracey, as well as her father, Richard K. Bracey. She is survived by: mother; Josephine Bracey; brothers; Richard and Daniel Bracey, and their wives; Gina and Jean Bracey.
