Obituary of Eduardo Simone

Eduardo Simone, 94, of South Plainfield, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016 at his home after a brief illness. Born in Formicola, Italy to the late Luigi and Philomena Simone, he moved with his parents to Plainfield in the 1980's, before settling in South Plainfield in 1986. Eduardo was a devoted worker in the now Thomas and Betts Factory in Garwood for many years before his retirement. He had a passion for gardening, and took great pride in his work, especially in growing his own vegetables and sharing the fruits of his labor with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his dear siblings, Maria Maioriello and Raphael Simone. Surviving are his dear brother, Angelo Simone, his loving nephews and nieces, Anthony, Josephine, Philomena, Frances, and Louie, his many great nieces and nephews and extended family and community friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00PM and 7:00 to 9:00PM on Thursday, July 14th at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Funeral services will be held at 9:30AM on Friday, July 15th at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum, South Plainfield.
