Kathleen E. Walyga nee Sampel, 83, of Nazareth PA, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2016 in Allentown, PA. Born and raised on Staten Island, NY to the late Benjamin and Mary Sampel, she settled in Middlesex in 1954 and was a longtime resident before moving to Nazareth, PA 15 years ago. Kathleen worked for Bristol Myers-Squibb in New Brunswick for over 25 years, starting on the assembly line, she went on to learn the chemistry aspect and became a Quality Control Chemist. Mrs. Walyga was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex for many years and was a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, traveling, and most of all the time spent with her cherished family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Peter Walyga in 2010, her loved daughter Linda Ann Walyga, and her dear brother James Sampel.
Surviving are her loving sons, Peter Walyga and wife Donna and James Walyga and wife Susan, her dear brother Ed Sampel, her cherished 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00PM at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30AM at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin R.C. Church 600 Harris Ave, Middlesex. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Memorial contributions may be made in Kathleen's memory to the American Cancer Society.
