Obituary of Frances Morrison

Frances Morrison, nee Kling, 95, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2017 in Basking Ridge. Born and raised in Plainfield, she raised her family in South Plainfield, and has resided in Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge, since 2000. Frances was the tenth of eleven children born to the late Charles and Stephanie Kling. She was proud of her achievements in the work force. Without a college education she was able to work successfully for Bell Labs researchers, progressing from the typing pool, to executive secretary for the heads of the research department. Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edmund Donald Morrison in 1964. Widowed at the age of 42, she raised her six children with the assistance of her close knit family; especially her sister and dear friend, Margaret Longo. She was an active member of a number of prayer and religious study groups, and maintained contact throughout her life with high school friends, former co-workers, and as always her close knit family. Frances was a loving, hardworking, supportive mother, sister, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and niece Jean, and enjoyed taking her grandchildren to The Great Swamp and local events. She was predeceased by her dear son, Edmund Morrison, Jr. Surviving are her loving children, Patricia Westrich and husband Ronald, David Morrison and wife Ellen, Michael Morrison and wife Pamela, Paul Morrison and wife Kathleen, John Morrison and wife Beth, daughter in law Mary Ann Morrison, her devoted niece and friend Frances Jean Lucas-Ventrone, her seven cherished grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and longtime friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00AM at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM on Friday, November 3rd at The Church of the Sacred Heart, 149 S Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Frances' memory to Catholic Charities Diocese of Metuchen, 319 Maple Street, Perth Amboy, New Jersey 08861
