One of the hardest things to do in a child's life is to watch their parent grow old and suffer. Dad for all of your 89 years you really only made me experience that for 3 weeks. Oh yea you would get mad at me for keeping my garage a mess or not calling you back right away. Crazy how we get wrapped up in our own little world but what I would not give to see you pull into my driveway and give me crap one more time for forgetting to bring out my recycling. Many of you knew him played golf with him, went to the race track or played cards. when I was faced with that difficult task of going through his personal effects in his strong box. I found a note in his always perfect handwriting. Often times he would make his grandson rewrite howework because it was not neat enough. The note read as follows and for all you that knew him well or just knew him tells you the man he was. Miss you Dad. " A brief moment of darkness was all that I knew before heavens gate came into my view. Loved ones and friends that I had missed for many years welcomed me with open arms and many happy tears. All that hurt fear and pain that I had ever known is gone from my life I am finally home. I gazed upon the Lord's sweet smiling face and for the first time in my life I knew and felt his grace I know that you miss me but please dry your eyes I will always be lovingly watching you with mema from our home in the sky A cool breeze on your face a touch of light rain I will send you as a reminder that we will be reunited again. Life on earth is but a brief moment in time for I am finally home eternity is mine. I am with mema and everything is fine. Pa"

So glad I got to see him a few weeks ago. As always, he was jovial and made a sad time for me more bearable. Bye Uncle Sammy. Please give my daughter a big hug for me. She'll be happy to see you. Love to the family.
