Jose Javier Arvizu, 69 years old and long time resident of Piscataway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon in the presence of his family at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.
Jose was born on May 4, 1948 in Pamplona, Spain. During his university studies he met his loving wife, Alix Elaine (Colitas), and emigrated to the United States in 1973. He was a journalist for 37 years, spending the bulk of his career at the prestigious Associated Press.
Jose is survived by his wife, two children, and his younger brother. He is predeceased by his parents and his twin sister.
Services for Jose will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Piscataway Funeral Home: 18 Stelton Rd, Piscataway Township, NJ 08854.
Visitation with the family will occur from 11AM-1PM with a short Catholic service at 1PM.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the doctors and especially the nurses at the JFK Medical Center Critical Care Unit.
In lieu of flowers or cards the family would like donations to be made in the family's name to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare (www.sthuberts.org).
