Obituary of Calvin L. Richards

Calvin Richards Passed away peacefully on June 2,2016 at Father Hudson House in Elizabeth NJ.
Mr. Richards was Born Aug 26,1933 in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. He left Canada with his Father when he was 16 and resided in Warren, NJ. He obtained his citizenship and attended North Plainfield High School. He joined the US Army at 19 and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. Upon discharge from the Service he met his bride Rose Marie [Pokotell] and they married in 1955. They were married 55 years until her passing on June 13,2011. Mr. Richards was employed as a Heating and Cooling Installer all his life until he retired at age 65.
He is predeceased by his wife Rose, son Calvin S. Richards and his grandson Mica D. Monroe from Middlesex, all of whom he missed dearly. Due to iIlness he moved from Waycross, Georgia where he loved to Piscataway, NJ to reside with his son David and wife Debbie and granddaughter Meghan. His hobbies were fishing, action, movies, country music and NASCAR racing. He was a proud member of multiple VFW groups. He deeply loved animals of all types.
Surviving are his son David of Piscataway, NJ, Carl of Ennice, North Carolina, daughter-in-law Debbie of Piscataway, NJ and his grandchildren Meghan Richards, Heather Richards [O'Connell] and Carl Richards Jr.
He had the gift of gab and would always offer a joke for a laugh. He would talk to friends and strangers being very social and outgoing. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
