David M. Thomas, 66, passed away June 23, 2014 at the Alameda Center in Perth Amboy. Born in Plainfield, he resided in Piscataway and Lake Hopatcong before moving to Perth Amboy ten years ago.David was a self-employed mechanic for Thomas Quality and later for Mobile Oil Co. He was an avid fisherman.Surviving are his children Kristin Hyland and her husband Daniel of Pittstown and David J. Thomas and his wife Lisa of North Carolina; and his grandchildren, Sean, Russell, Emma, Kearstin, Karlin, Dylan and Dawson.Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 with a 6:00 to 8:00 pm visitation and a prayer service closing out the evening.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in David's name to the National Council of Alcoholism and drug dependence, 152 Tices Lane, East Brunswick, NJ 08816.
