Obituary of Joseph A. Scarpa

Middlesex, NJ Joseph A. Scarpa, 87, entered into eternal life on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Newark to his late parents Bernard and Philomena (Deo) Scarpa, Joseph has been a resident of the borough for forty-six years.Joseph was proud to be a veteran of the United States Army where he served and was wounded during WWII. He retired from Somerset Technologies where he was employed as a Tool and Dye Maker. He loved trips to Florida and enjoyed time at the beach. Joseph could always be found at the Middlesex Library and was active with the Stock Market.Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Arthur Scarpa.Joseph leaves behind his loving wife of forty-six years Louise (Sammarro) Scarpa and his children; Joseph of Cedar Grove, Betty Ann Wallace of Mount Dora, FL and Anthony J. Scarpa of Winfield Park. He also leaves behind five adored grandchildren, two cherished great-grandchildren and his dear siblings; Philip, Bernard and Marie Scarpa.Entombment will be held Thursday, January 23, 2104 beginning 10:00 am in Hollywood Memorial Park Mausoleum in Union, NJ.
