Obituary of Neal E. Hunt

Neal E. Hunt, 66, passed away May 4, 2014 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, he settled in Piscataway with his wife in 1973.Mr. Hunt received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1970 and his Bachelor of Science degree in 1981 from Jersey City State College. He was a Captain with the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office from 1972 1994 and has been a Special Investigator with Allstate from 1996 until present. Neal was a former member of the New Market Volunteer Fire Department, a former bowler on the Stelton Lanes Bowling League, an avid golfer, and a NY Jets enthusiast. Mr. Hunt was predeceased by his parents, Neal and Amelia Mary Hunt and by his brother Lawrence Hunt. Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Mrs. Janice Hunt of Piscataway; his son Matthew Hunt of Piscataway and his daughter Alison Heinze and her husband Dirk of Berlin, Germany.Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 am at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 followed by interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington. Visitation hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Neal's name to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and/or to a charity of your choice.
