Obituary of ANGELO ROMEO

Angelo Romeo, 93, passed away November 23, 2013 at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. Born and raised in Tresilico, Italy, he immigrated to the United States in May of 1951. Mr. Romeo served in the Italian Military during WWII. Once settled in the United States, Angelo helped others from his home get settled in Piscataway. He worked as a steel cutter for David Smith Steel in South Plainfield. Mr. Romeo was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, he loved to garden and had a big heart for animals but most important to him was the time spent with his family, especially family dinners.Mr. Romeo was predeceased by his loving wife, Mrs. Fortunata Romeo who passed away in 2012. Surviving are his dear daughters, Francesca Urbaniak and her husband John of Piscataway and Josephine Haegi and her husband Robert of Georgia; his brothers, Joseph Romeo of Italy and John Romeo of Piscataway; his seven cherished grandchildren, Julie Ann, Jennifer, Pam, John, Doug, James and Jana and his three great grandchildren, Corinne, Jolene and Connor.**Please note that the funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Piscataway Funeral Home, but all of the services will be taking place at the South Plainfield Funeral Home location**Funeral services will begin Wednesday 9:00 am from the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10:00 am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Entombment will be in the Resurrection Burial Park Mausoleum in Piscataway. Visitation hours are Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the South Plainfield Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Romeo's family requests donations to the Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway.
