Obituary of Thomas A. Giaimo

Thomas A. Giaimo, 63, passed away May 18, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center. Born and raised in Newark, he has resided in Piscataway since 1991. Mr. Giaimo was a former Service specialist for Verizon in Dunellen. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mrs. Beth Giaimo of Piscataway; his children, Mike, Denise and Nick; his mother Anita Giaimo; his brother Dennis and his wife Flora; his nephews Joseph, Tommy and Greg, his niece Kristin; and his dear dog Ally.Tom was an avid lover of life and laughter. He dedicated much of his time to helping others, most recently volunteering for the Sean Hanna Foundation in Piscataway. Tom was a coach and member of the Piscataway Soccer Club for over 15 years, sharing his passion for the game with the youth of Piscataway and other members of the community. He was always the life of the party, and anyone who met him could sense his spirit and love of life. He will be so very missed by his family and friends as he was a one of a kind exceptional man. Funeral services will begin Friday 9:00 am from the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 followed by a 10:00 am funeral liturgy at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Committal will be private. Visitation hours are Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's name to the Imus Ranch, PO Box 250, Ribera, NM 87560 and/or the Sean Hanna Foundation, 3 Rivercrest Dr., Piscataway, NJ 08854.
