Obituary of Walter M. Maxwell

Piscataway, NJ - Walter Maxwell, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City to his late parents Reno and Agnes (May) Maxwell, Walter has been a lifelong resident of Piscataway. After faithfully serving his country as Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Walter was honorably discharged in 1955. He retired from American Hoechst Corp. in Bridgewater where he worked as a Carpenter and Maintenance Mechanic. He was an avid NY Yankees Fan and was a member of New Market Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Chief for fifteen years during the late 1970's and 1980's. Predeceased by his wife Eva M. Maxwell who died in 2007, Walter leaves behind his son; Michael and his wife Pat Maxwell, along with their son Austin all of Hillsborough and his daughter Anna Lysick and her children; Alex, Angela and Nicholas all of Easton, PA. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Thursday, March 31, 2016 followed by burial beside his wife at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will take place in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Thursday, March 31, 2016 beginning 9:30 am.
