Obituary of Robert A. Amorosi

Robert Anthony Amorosi, of Piscataway New Jersey passed on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 76 years old. Born on November 8, 1937 Robert was the son of Don J. and Josephine Amorosi. Robert, "Bob" was a graduate of North Plainfield High School and attended the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. Bob served in the United States Army and was stationed in Guam in the late 1950's.After serving in the Army, Bob and his wife Maureen settled in Piscataway, New Jersey and he was employed at Puralator. Most recently he enjoyed working part time at Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset, where he often played golf with his friends and family and was affectionately known as "Bobby A.". Bob was very talented at playing the accordion and played professionally. The band he formed, the Vibrations was well known in the central Jersey area from 1965 to 1985. He was an avid New York sports fan, enjoyed the race track and spent his free time perfecting his game of golf. Mr. "A", as he was lovingly known as, will truly be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Maureen Amorosi and his father, Don J. Amorosi. Surviving are his are his loving family; his mother Josephine Amorosi of Sunrise, Florida, his sons, Tom and his wife Beth of Somerset, Jeff and his girlfriend Lori of Clinton, and Don and his partner Doug of Flemington; his brother Donald Amorosi and his sister in law Dorothy Amorosi of Piscataway, his grandchildren Karissa and her husband Addison, Dominic and Alicia; his great-grandchildren Jude, Caylee and Shane; and his many nieces, nephews and friends.
