Obituary of Mary G Perdie

South Plainfield, NJ - Mary Gertrude Perdie "Nooney", 101, died peacefully at The Woodlands in Plainfield with her loving daughters at her side on March 9, 2017. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mary has been a resident of South Plainfield for over 75 years. Mary was a warm, caring homemaker, a communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, enjoyed playing ukulele, crocheting for entire family, and was a NY Mets and Islander fan. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her Tuesday bowling league until she was 96 years old. Predeceased in 1999 by her husband of 64 years, Edward Perdie, and two sons-in-law, Joseph Chiovarou and Paul C. Thievon, Jr. She leaves behind three daughters, Patricia Chiovarou of Bridgewater, Maryhelen Thievon of South Plainfield and Jane Klinger and devoted son-in-law Max Klinger, also of South Plainfield. She was also the proud grandmother of 12 and will also be missed by 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at 1:15PM in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue. Visitation will take place in on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 3-7PM in the funeral home. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
