South Plainfield - JoAnn Grace Scarpitto, 64, beloved daughter and sister of the Scarpitto family passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at home, surrounded by her devoted family.
JoAnn was born on February 12, 1952, in Rahway Hospital, and lived with her parents in South Plainfield since 1957. JoAnn graduated from South Plainfield High School Special Education program in 1971.
Her family was very important to her, and she especially loved to plan family parties. JoAnn enjoyed writing, fashion design, dancing, and music. Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were her favorite TV shows, and she was a soap opera enthusiast with a special fondness for General Hospital. If you needed an answer to an old movie trivia question, just ask JoAnn. She loved shopping at the Woodbridge mall where she had many fans; she was a shopping diva. We know our angel is at peace, but will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her loving parents, Joseph Robert and Geraldine Mega Scarpitto, her dear siblings Barbara Scarpitto Geraghty and husband Raymond, Mary Lynn Scarpitto Calder and husband Tom, Joseph Frank Scarpitto and wife Cathy Caro Scarpitto, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, a great nephew, and extended family and friends.
